OpenSSH vulnerability regreSSHion puts millions of servers at risk

Researchers at Qualys have found a remote code execution vulnerability in Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) server that could allow unauthenticated attackers to gain root access and take control of servers. The flaw, tracked as CVE-2024-6387, is a regression of an older issue patched 18 years ago. It was introduced in October 2020 with the release of OpenSSH 8.5p1.
